Our Privacy Policy (Agreement)

This is a legal agreement ("Agreement") between you and Meeting Land. Please read the Agreement carefully before registering for Meeting Land's service. By registering in Meeting Land, you become a member of the Service (a "Member"), and you agree to be bound by the terms and
conditions of this Agreement (the "Privacy Policy") for as long as you continue to be a Member.

1.      Membership, Password and Security:

1.1.      YOU MUST BE 18 OR OVER TO REGISTER ON OR USE any services of Meeting Land if you are going to use Meeting Land to meet people with a purpose other than friendship or pen pal. You may be required to submit proof to us that you are indeed over the age of 18.

1.2.   Your membership in Meeting Land is for your personal use. You may not assign, transfer, or sell this membership.

1.3.   The Database is only to be accessed by Members of the Website.

1.4.   We would like you to have secure and pleasant environment here, so you will not include in the area of your profile your street address. Your Date of Birth is not for display (this information is used to compute your horoscope), it will be kept private. Meeting Land has security measures to protect and prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of the information.

1.5.   You will receive the activation link upon completing the registration process. When you activate your profile other Members of the Meeting Land will see it. If the email with activation link was lost, you can make a request on repeated email with the activation link in section "Profiles". Our administrator will verify that your data is in accordance with Privacy Policy of Meeting Land whereupon other Members of the Meeting Land will see your profile. Please don't forget to activate your profile before log in!

1.6.   You will be able to update or terminate your personally information at Meeting Land at anytime, for any reason. Please promptly update your information if it changes.

1.7.   You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password and email.

1.8.   Link to Home Page (on request) will be placed and the link to it will be sent to the Member within three business days. The Home page will not be accessed through the "search" function. Nevertheless, it's not a confidential one, therefore it will not be subject to the privacy protections.

1.9. Full Membership (Basic, Bronze, Silver, or Gold) will be automatically renewed after its initial term expires. You can easily turn off this auto-renewal feature in the Update section (Profiles -> Update). In the event that your credit card is ever denied on the basis of insufficient funds as an automatic renewal, Meeting Land reserves the right to resubmit your credit card for approval within ten days of the initial decline. Meeting Land will not resubmit your credit card, if you have made payment through another source. If you have any questions, please contact administrator.

1.10. As a Full Member (Basic, Bronze, Silver, or Gold) you can initiate up to 50 contacts per day.

1.11. As a Full Member you can send as many replies as you wish.

1.12. As a Member of Meeting Land you agree that you should have any of the following privileges to initiate contact:

• You have Full Membership (Basic, Bronze, Silver or Gold)

• You're writing to Silver or Gold Member (Silver and Gold Members allow non-paying members to initiate contact with them for free).
  An icon states that you can initiate contact with a Member.

• You have Bonus (free) Membership.
  We have several programs for getting a Bonus Membership.
  First, those members that had a Full Membership (Bronze, Silver or Gold) at least one time and proved themselves active members, e.g. they were active in correspondence with other members (the Email System determines the most active members automatically), can get Bonus Membership.
  Second, you can volunteer your time on the site. If you're willing to become a volunteer to get either Basic or Bonus Membership, send a request to administrator

1.13.  As a Member of Meeting Land you agree that Trial Membership enables to take advantage of all features of the Basic Membership and begins immediately upon approval of payment. This offer expires on Tuesday, January 31, 2006. If a Member do not cancel the subscription during the Trial period (section Profiles -> Update), he/she/they will be billed for the Basic package. It means that the Member's credit card will be automatically charged $4.95 every week until cancelled or until upgraded to the other Membership.

1.14. You may request a refund within 48 hours of your order only. You can submit your request on the "Contacts" page.

2.      Termination:

2.1.   Do Not type in your profile URLs or websites.

2.2.   Do Not alter the appearance of your ad by using HTML tags.

2.3.   Do Not post your profile or gather profiles information using automated tools, unless specifically authorized (e.g., crawling software, robots).

2.4.   Do Not post information that is not your own.

2.5.   Do Not send unsolicited messages/emails, including promotions and/or advertising of products or services.

2.6.   Do Not post chain letters, multi-level marketing programs or pyramid schemes.

2.7.   Do Not forge any TCP/IP packet header or any part of the header information in any e-mail or newsgroup posting for any reason.

2.8.   Do Not post any sexually-explicit image, offensive anatomical or sexual references, offensive sexually suggestive language.

2.9.   Do Not post illegal, harmful, obscene, indecent, threatening, abusive, disruptive, racially, ethnically, bigotry or otherwise objectionable material.

2.10. Do Not post email or otherwise transmit any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.

2.11. As a Free Member Do Not send to other Members, except Silver or Gold Members, more than 5 emails per day (24 hours).

2.12. As a Free, Basic, Bronze or Silver Member, Do Not attach and/or insert any files to outgoing emails.

2.13. Do Not register profiles that promote any advertising of products, services or other websites (by direct or indirection way).

2.14. Do Not type in the field "More info" of the profile e-mail/postal address, phone number, URLs, websites, Messenger (ICQ, ODIGO, MSN etc.).

2.15. You promise to include your e-mail, phone number or Messenger (ICQ, ODIGO, MSN etc.) only in the corresponding fields.

2.16. Do Not harasse or advocates harassment of another person.

2.17. Do Not promote or shelter information that you know is false, misleading, violate our Privacy Policy or promotes illegal activities.

2.18. Do Not promote an illegal or unauthorized copy of another person’s copyrighted work.

2.19. Do Not include in your profile street addresses and last names.

2.20. Do Not send any contacts (e-mail address, phone number, Messenger (ICQ, ODIGO, MSN), URLs etc.) in the first email to any Member.

2.21. Do Not register more than one profile.

2.22. Companies, organizations or/and businesses may not become Members and should not use the Service or the Website for any purpose.

3.      Photo rules:

3.1.   Please do not place/post the following kinds of photos:

• Naked (only swimsuit/bathing suit, underwear/lingerie are alowed),
• Not recent,
• Obscene/pornographic,
• Your face is not clear,
• Cartoon characters instead of your photo,
• "Collage" of images,
• That are not yours.

3.2.   Post only JPEG (jpg). The size limitation: up to 300Kb per one photo.

3.3.   Meeting Land reserves the right to edit your photos to best meet the requirements and remove any inappropriate photos to maintain the quality of our service.

3.4.   Meeting Land reserves the right to use your photo(s) with the purpose of advertising . For example, in banners, newspapers, TV etc.

4.       Your IP Address:

4.1.   Like most e-commerce Websites, each time you visit Meeting Land or use its services, we automatically collect your IP address and the web page from which you came. In order to optimize and administer Meeting Land for you, and to diagnose problems, we use your IP address to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information about you.

5.      “Third Party”:

5.1.   You further acknowledge and agree that content contained in sponsor advertisements or information presented to you through the Service or advertisers is protected by copyrights, trademarks, service marks, patents or other proprietary rights and laws.

5.2.   You also acknowledge and agree that Meeting Land will not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with your use of or reliance on the content, advertising or business practices of linked third-party websites. If you decide to access and use linked third-party websites, you agree that you do so at your own risk.

5.3.   "Third party" advertisers on Meeting Land may place or read cookies on your browser. You can disable these cookies, the "help" portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how. Keep in mind, if you set your browser to disable cookies, you may not be able to access certain areas on the Website.

5.4.   In some cases, we may enter into a promotional relationship with another company in which we prominently display their banner, brand name, trademarks or link on pages of the Website.

5.5.  Your profile's information will never be shared with any "Third Party".

5.6.  You agree to pay for Membership or any other services of Meeting Land using secure online payment system 2CheckOut. It means that we don't have access to your credit card information. Therefore, we do not accept responsibility or liability for the payment proccess. Also, Meeting Land will not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with your use of 2CheckOut.

6.      Modification, Suspension or Discontinuance:

6.1.   Meeting Land reserves the right at any time to modify or discontinue the service (or any part thereof) offered on the Website, on a temporary or permanent basis, with or without notice. You acknowledge and agree that the Company will not be liable to you or to any third party for any such modification, suspension or discontinuance of the service offered by the Website. You also agree to review this agreement periodically to ensure that you are aware of any modifications. Each time you visit Meeting Land or provide us with information, by doing so you are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy at that time.

6.2.   We send monthly informational updates, news to our Members via e-mail.

7.      Meeting Land proprietary rights:

7.1.   Copyright statement Copyright 2004 Meeting Land. All rights reserved. All material on this Website, including but not limited to, graphics, user interface design, flash files, programming logic, articles, sound files and programming code, is the exclusive property of Meeting Land and protected by applicable intellectual property law and other international laws.

7.2.   You agree not to modify the Software in any manner or form, or to use modified versions of the Software, including (without limitation) for the purpose of obtaining unauthorized access to the Service. You agree not to access the Service by any means other than through the interface that is provided by Meeting Land for use in accessing the Service.

7.3.   Without Meeting Land owner prior written permission, you agree not to display or use in any manner the property of Meeting Land.

7.4.   Unauthorized or/and illegal uses of the Website, including collecting email addresses of Members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited email will be investigated, and appropriate legal action will be taken.

8.      Liability:

8.1.   The material may contain technical inaccuracies, typographical errors, and out of date information, including Members that may be inaccessible for a certain period or not remain active. You acknowledge and agree that Meeting Land disclaims any liability for the content of any data posted on the Website or transferred between Members or stored by Member via the services provided by Meeting Land, including attached and inserted files, also for the conduct, whether online or offline, of any Member or user of the Website. You understand and agree that Meeting Land disclaims any liability for any advice, help, support and/or answers provided here in by the psychologists or anybody from the staff. Meeting Land assumes no responsibility for any interruption, error, omission, defect, deletion, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, user or Member communications. Meeting Land is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, providers or servers, software, computer equipment, computer online systems, failure of email or players on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website or combination thereof, including damage or injury to Members or/and users to any other person's computer resulting from or related to participating or downloading materials in connection with Meeting Land or its Service. You aslo understand and agree that neither Services provided no information obtained on Meeting Land should be used as a part of any forensic evaluation. You understand that confidentiality, privacy, and security cannot be 100% guaranteed over the internet. Under no circumstances will Meeting Land be responsible for any personal injury or death that results from anyone's use of Meeting Land or its Service or any interactions between users of the Website, whether online or offline.

8.2.   To provide secure environment here our System of correspondence block all suspicious attached and inserted files that may contain software viruses or any other computer code, programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment. Nevertheless Meeting Land doesn't guarantee safety of any files posted on the Website or transferred between Members or stored by Member via the services provided by Meeting Land.

8.3.   You understand that all text, photographs, messages/emails or other materials posted/transmitted, are the sole responsibility of the person from which such Content originated. This means that you, not Meeting Land, are entirely responsible for all Content that you upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available via the Service. By submitting content to any public area of the Website (which includes, but is not limited to, your profile, forums, contests etc.), your content will be considered "Public Information" and will not be subject to the privacy protections afforded your Private Information. Meeting Land is not responsible for the use of any personal information that you may choose to disclose on the Service. Please carefully select the type of Content that you post on the Meeting Land service. We use personally identifiable information to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and enforce our Privacy Policy..

8.4.  You agree to indemnify and hold Meeting Land, its officers, agents, subsidiaries, partners and employees, harmless from any liability, claim, loss or demand, including reasonable attorney's fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your violation of Privacy Policy of Meeting Land.

8.5.   Meeting Land reserves the right, but has no obligation, to monitor correspondence between its Members to check against our Privacy Policy.

8.6.   Also you acknowledge and agree that the use of Meeting Land and the material are at your own risk. Meeting Land cannot guarantee and does not promise any specific results from use of the Website and/or the Service. Meeting Land does not guarantee a response from the recipient nor does it make any other promises or warranties of any kind.

9.      Complaints and Violations:

9.1.   To resolve a complaint regarding the Meeting Land service, you should first contact Meeting Land. Please report any violations of the Privacy Policy to our Customer Support center.

9.2. Meeting Land will have the right to remove or modify without any sending notice to you any part of such material (for example, profile's content, letters etc.) that violates, or is alleged to violate our Privacy Policy. We may also terminate your membership for the same reason without any sending notice to you. If your membership was terminated because you have violated Privacy Policy of Meeting Land you will not be entitled to any refund of unused subscription fees. Even after membership is terminated, this Privacy Policy will remain in effect.

9.3.   We cannot guarantee that each Member is at least 18 years old, nor do we accept responsibility or liability for any content, communication or other use or access of the Website by persons under 18 years old in violation of our Privacy Policy.

9.4.   You agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of Meeting Land for as long as you continue to be a Member. If you do not agree to the terms, please do not register for the Meeting Land service.
