1. What does a profile consist of?
   Each member fills out a questionnaire and an essay which will let other members find out a little bit more about you. Some of the questions must be filled out. A profile is subdivided into several sections: personal, lifestyle, favorites and optional essay (you can write something that makes you attractive and unique, and a few words about a person you are looking for). A photo is optional but strongly recommended attribute of personal ads, because profiles with photos get more attention.
    

2. What will you recommend me to write in my profile?
   Tired of typing and retyping the same basic info about yourself? You'll be delighted with how quickly (with just a few clicks of your mouse) and easily you can send a complete information about yourself. At the same time we recommend you to write something that makes you unique. Why? Unfortunately, some personal ads stay unnoticed not because a woman or a man is ugly or fail something, but because of the unattractive ads. There are literally different ways to write a personal ad, but the main rule you should remember is that you will use your personal ad as a book through which to sell yourself as a potential mate. Good ads are like good books: the further you read the more interesting. You may be the best writer, but if your ad doesn't prove your talents, you're not going to get any responses.
   
   To write an attractive personal ad you should remember that everyone has something interesting about her/him, no two personals are interesting in the same way. Portray your best features. Spend time to express your thoughts, feelings and desires. Express your hobbies and interests. For example, you compose poems. Excellent! Place an excerpt from one of your best poems. This will add romance to your ad. Thus your ad won't merge with other personal ads, it will stand out. Be yourself. Don't fake. Pretence is usually revealed when people leave personal ads and go on to meet in person.
   
   Don’t write about all your talents in your ad. Try to be a mystery as long as possible. Always leave people wanting more. Don't forget that quality is more important than quantity. People make judgments on the information you give. You will better write 4 sentences about yourself essentially than 24 "so-so" sentences. Try to realize whether you have given enough information in your ad for personals to make a decision about you.
   
   Make sure you check your punctuation and spelling. If you're not great at spelling, a dictionary is a wise investment. Read and re-read your profile. If something sounds or looks stupid, change it.
   
   Start meeting people without a negative. People avoid problems, but attracted to those who make them feel happy.
   
   In your ad be specific about what you are looking for. Don't touch too much on what you don't like. Don't speak negatively about yourself or others. Remember there are no ideal personals and personal ads.
   
   Maintain your anonymity until you feel comfortable with your potential match. Be optimistic!
    

3. I filled in my questionnaire, now what?
   After you have filled in the registration form, you will be sent an activation link to the email address that you specified. To activate your profile you should click the activation link. When you activate your profile our administrator will verify that your data are in accordance with Privacy Policy of Meeting Land whereupon other Members of the Meeting Land will see your profile. So, congratulations! At this point you are a Member of the site and can use all of the features of the Free Membership.
   
   We also offer an option to those members who want advanced networking capabilities to upgrade their account to Full Membership for a nominal fee. We recommend you to buy Silver or Gold Membership - you'll get a big discount and many benefits! Just a few of them:
   -Silver and Gold Memberships allow all levels of members, including free members, initiate contact with you, so you will receive
   much more messages - more chances to meet your special someone!

4. How do I place a photo?
   There are 2 ways to place (or replace) your photo:
   * On your home page. You should log in to enter your home page. Then click the link "Place/Replace photos"
   * In section "Update". You should log in to enter your home page. Then click the link "Place/Replace photos".
   Photos must be of the format JPG. Photos will be automatically resized to fit the best onto your profile.
   If you have any troubles, do not hesitate to contact us.
   Remember, a photo is optional but strongly recommended attribute of the profile, because profiles with photos get much more attention. Smile on the photo makes a profile magical! Qualitative photo makes the profile more effective! Avoid posting in your profile not recent photos. Refrain from using pictures that are out of date or no longer accurate. Don't worry if you don't have the sex appeal of Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt, few of us really look like that anyway. None of us are perfect, and we all have things that we'd like to change. Be proud of yourself and who you are, and make sure that your pictures reflect that.
    

5. My photo is not uploading. What could be the problem?
   Most likely it's not uploading because you photo is of the format JPG or the size is too large. Photos must be less 500k in size. If you do not have the means to adjust the size of your photo, feel free to email the photo in to the photo department at MeetingLand.com. We will adjust the size and upload it for you.

6. I didn't get an activation link. What should I do?
   Email with an activation link should arrive within 15 minutes of signing up. If you don't get it, one of two things has happened.
   * First, you may have put in an email address that does not work.
   * Second, you may have your security settings set to high on your email client so that it is being identified as spam.
   Click the button [Profiles] on the menu bar, then click the link "Send me Activation Code again ", input your email address again and activation link will be resent to you. If this still does not work, then please contact us and we will activate your profile manually.
    

7. I just paid for my Gold Membership. But I still can't write emails or respond. What's up?
   Everything is OK. Your order was successfully accepted. Your Gold Membership was activated. Please Log Out and Log In again using your email address and password.
    

8. I want to have my photo placed on the 1st page of Meeting Land. What should I do?
   If you are a Gold Member, you can take advantage of the "First page photo placement" Service for free.
   Gold Membership gives many other pleasant and useful features, e.g. your profile will be always on the 1st pages of search results. There are many people who have only 15-20 minutes to look through profiles. Therefore, profiles that are shown on the 1st pages have much more chances for success than others.
   If you are not a Gold Member then you have a choice:

9. Input e-mail and password but having problems getting into the website. How do you activate?
   Make sure you have clicked the activation link that was sent to your email upon completing the registration process. When you click it your profile will be activated. Then our administrator will verify that your data are in accordance with Privacy Policy of Meeting Land whereupon other members of the Meeting Land will see it and you'll be able to get into the website.
   If you han't got the activation link make a request on repeated email: Go to the menu bar -> click the button [Profiles] -> click the link "Send me Activation Code again " -> input your email address and activation link will be resent to you.
   If this still does not work, then please contact us and we will activate your profile manually.
    

10. How do I get into my homepage?
    You can get into your homepage in the the following ways:
    a) Simply log in on the http://www.meetingland.com/  , i.e. type your email address and password in the "Member Login" form;
    b) Find the button [Home] on the left hand menubar and click it, then log in.
     

11. How do I change my password/email address?
    Click the "Change my password" link on your home page. A set of fields will display for you to fill in your email, your current password, your new password and then type your new password in again to confirm it. Press the [Submit] button. The new password will go into effect immediately.
    If you want to change your email address write a request to administration. Include you current email address and the new one. Your email address will be changed and confirmation of changing information will be sent to your current e-mail address within one business day of receiving your email. Then you can use your new email address.
     

12. I seem to time out right away on my Meeting Land Session.
    The system is setup to automatically time out users for inactivity after 20 minutes. This is to keep the traffic down on the site and is standard on most sites. However, another reason could be that you have an old session window still open. Close down all of your browser windows and start a new browser window. Log in as normal and the problem should be solved.
     

13. How do I log on?
    Every time you log in the Meeting Land website, i.e. you type your email address and password in the login form,  you are automatically logged on to the all options that are allowed by your Membership.
     
14. How do I log off?
    To log off, click on the "Logout" link. Your screen will revert to its "not connected" status. There will be a note: "OK! (you have successfully logged out)".
     
15. Are profiles screened?
    All profiles are personally screened by one of our administrators. Besides, our site has automatic filters in some of its features to prevent offensive language. Pictures are also reviewed for appropriateness. Those who do not observe our Privacy Policy will have their memberships revoked.
     
16. I want to update my profile.
    
    Log in at http://www.meetingland.com/  - and you'll be taken to your homepage. Click the link "Update", make the changes you wish and then press the button [Submit].
     
17. How do I get discounts on Membership?
    Upgrade your account to Bronze, Silver or Gold Membership.

18. When I try to set up another account it wont allow me to do this as the email address is already known to you.
    You can't register more than one profile using one and the same email address. Please DO NOT violate the rules of the site.
     
19. Please permit me to contact other members of the site Meeting Land for free, because I do not have money to pay for membership.
    You can initiate contact and send emails to Gold and Silver members.
    If you want more dating opportunities you can apply for a Bonus Membership. Meeting Land provides this Membership for those members who can't pay for services. Bonus Membership enables to initiate contact and reply for free. To get a Bonus Membership you should volunteer their time on the site. If you want to get a Bonus Membership make a request for volunteer work
     

20. How do I go about canceling my membership?
    We have a self-deletion feature in the section "Update". Simply find the button "Update" on the left hand menubar and click it. Then click the link "Click to delete your profile". To complete canceling your membership you need to enter the confirmation code, which will be sent to your email address, then press the button [Submit].
    Remember, we will keep your information for a few months in case you decide to come back later.
     

21. What if I only want to cancel my payments and keep my free Membership active?
    If you cancel your payments, your credit card will NOT be charged again and your Membership will get a free status. You can upgrade your account to Full Membership anytime.
     

22. Does having a Internet Security software program on my computer affect my membership?
    Yes...Internet Security programs like Norton Internet Security can cause disruptions in the information that is being allowed to go to your computer from our server. Our server is giving you member details and other information, so its important that the channels of communication stay open. A simple adjustment to your Norton Internet Security program is required:
    1) Open your Norton Internet Security panel, click the Options button and select "Internet Security";
    2) Select the Web Content tab and click the "Add Site button"
    3) Type in the address of our site (i.e. http://www.meetingland.com) and click OK.
    4) After our site has been added, make sure it is highlighted and click the "Use Default Settings" tick box for Information about visited sites to remove the tick. Then click the Permit radio button and lastly the OK button.
